HEALTHY SCHOOLS, FULHAM RECEIVES AWARD

03 April 2017


Fulham Prep has recently been awarded the Bronze Award by the Healthy Schools Partnership London. The Bronze Award is the first step of the scheme. The programme was set up with guidance from the NHS and it is sponsored by the Mayor of London who wanted to recognise and celebrate schools that are making a difference for their pupils.

The scheme looks at seven different areas within the school:

  1.     Leadership, management and managing change
  2.     Policy development
  3.     Learning and teaching, curriculum planning and resourcing
  4.     School ethos, culture, environment and SMSC development
  5.     Provision of support services for children and young people
  6.     Staff continuing professional development (CPD), health and wellbeing
  7.     Partnerships with parents/carers, local communities and external agencies to support pupil health and wellbeing

FULHAM PUPILS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS

We are delighted to announce three significant successes to celebrate. Jack P has managed to win the top academic scholarship (The Alexander Ross Wallace Scholarship) to Sherborne School, Elora C secured a Music Exhibition to Bradfield College and Sophie Y has won a Music Scholarship to City of London School for Girls. Many congratulations to them and their teachers!

The for-profit schools group has bullishly been snapping up schools around the globe, acquiring Umhlanga College in South Africa, Colegio San Mateo in Colombia and Brookhouse School in Kenya in the last 12 months alone.

This has all happened under the guiding hand of Nadim Nsouli, who is already quite a big name in the education sector. After working for years at Providence Equity Partners, the US backer of such companies as Study Group and Blackboard, he spotted an opportunity to establish his own intern...
